Job Description

We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Maritime Officer to join our client’s dynamic team.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our maritime operations.

Responsibilities:
– Take the lead over a small team and oversee daily maritime operations.
– Utilize your knowledge of safety systems applicable on vessels to take full responsibility for their usage, application, monitoring, and improvement on board.
– Work collaboratively with the team to maintain a safe working environment.
– Provide supervision according to established instructions and procedures.
– Contribute to a positive working environment by fostering effective communication, feedback, and teamwork.
– Work on a rotating schedule of 4 weeks On/4 weeks Off within Europe and 6 weeks On/6 weeks Off outside Europe.
– Work 12 hours a day, 7 days a week during active duty.
– Participate in both internal and external training programs.
– Strive for personal development and career growth towards the position of Captain.
– Maintain a clean and tidy work and living space on board.
– Enjoy good food provided during working hours.
– Adhere to the pension scheme as per Bedrijfspensioenfond Koopvaardij.

Requirements:
– Maroff diploma (Maritime Officer degree at a Dutch Nautical School).
– Valid STCW documents and Certificate of Competency (COC).
– Multiple years of experience on workboats.
– Ability to work under supervision and willingness to supervise others.
– Strong commitment to safety, with a focus on promoting safety on board.
– Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English, both written and verbal.
– Ability to give and receive feedback effectively.
– Demonstrated dedication to safe working practices.
